asked GC about this via twitter over the weekend – typically, no response. Its clear hunters are just not worth taking to this encounter. DPSBot shows us flat bottom for both SV and BM on this encounter, no matter how much better your gear is than anyone else in the raid.

Spend two nights and 8 hours wiping there. 7 times on 1% or below. No kill, I felt like a total jackass with my dps in both SV and BM.
This lock-out were not bringing me…

apart from rogues, mages also do great damage here. if you’re not hitting the legs at all (which we are not in 10m) as a hunter, you’re not going to do less damage than other normal classes. apart from multi dotters.
however i agree that BMs have pretty low variability at the moment. we’re single target dpsers. that’s all. this is cool, but most other classes do the same plus they’re good at different stuff like cleaving, multi dotting, bombing, whatever. we need better cleaves. glaive toss alone isn’t good.
Garalon has just been hotfixed in response to the bug Kripparrian described:
“With regard to all raid difficulties, after further testing the encounter, we realized that certain abilities were having unintended effects. Blade Flurry, Inferno Blast and Sweeping Strikes were doing double damage to Garalon’s body while attacking his legs, which was not intended. We are currently implementing a hotfix, which should take effect after realms are restarted, that will cause these abilities to do normal damage to the body while continuing to do double damage to the legs.” http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7006896797#1
