Chaud at MMO Champion: “A new patch should hit the Mists of Pandaria beta servers in the next few days, changes below!”
Here are the hunter changes:
- Stampede – Now has a 10 min cooldown, up from 30 sec.
Hunter – Talents
- Binding Shot – Now has a 3 sec stun in PvP, down from 5 sec.
- Readiness – When activated, this ability immediately finishes the cooldown on all Hunter abilities with a base cooldown less than 6 minutes.
Hunter – Major Glyphs
- Glyph of Deterrence – Now increases the damage reduction granted by Deterrence by 20%, instead of decreasing cooldown.
Hunter – Minor Glyphs
- Glyph of Aspects – New: Each time you activate a new Aspect, an animal companion representing that Aspect will follow you for 15 sec.

Understandable about Binding Shot.
About Stampede/Readiness; this means Stampede will only be usable once in a fight, and probably that it’s really really strong.
Deterrence glyph is pretty nice!
And I love the Glyph of Aspects. xD Was waiting for a non-gamebreaking vanity glyph. This will be so cute, with the little fox or hawk or ironhawk following us around.

Will also make Detterence more awesome than it was!
Binding shot change is poor, makes it completely unusable now. A 1 min 30 cd 3 sec stun vs a 20 sec cd 3 sec silence? I’d even prefer the silence when fighting a class like a DK… being able to stop howling blasts/death coils/deathgrips every 20 seconds is better than being able to stun him every minute and a half for a measly 3 seconds (which he can either AMS or icebound, btw, and it can be dispelled). Too bad I was looking forward to using binding shot.
Readiness change is good (few abilities are bugged and don’t get reset by it atm). As stampede is a 10 minute cooldowns I’m guessing it won’t be usable in arenas a’la Lay on Hands/Army of the Dead. We will have to see. I can’t see anyone using the glyph of deterrence (our glyph choices seem to be pretty set in PvP [Arcane Shot slow, Explosive trap knockback and glyph of disengage/icy solace.
All-in-all i think they should rethink binding shot, at least make it a short cooldown if they want it to be a 3 second stun, considering it takes some degree of skill to land it AND the fact that it’s dispellable (unlike cheap shot in both cases). It also DR’s with monkey stun atm!
The change to Glyph of Deterrence does seem to swing it from being more of a PvP-oriented glyph to perhaps being useful for some PvE encounters (e.g. soaking Void of the Unmaking on heroic Zon’ozz) where we had minimal damage mitigation available to us.
I’m very happy to see that they found a good cosmetic choice for a minor glyph. Here’s hoping that we can get a few more that are equally as good.
I’m not in the Beta yet and so don’t know: does Binding Shot apply to targets who wander into (and then out of) its radius during its duration or only to those targets who were inside its radius when it was placed?
I finally got into the Beta today and tested it. I kited a mob from outside the Binding Shot radius into the area of effect. Once the mob got near the arrow it was indeed affected by Binding Shot.
Overall some nice changes, pity about binding shot. I LOVE Glyph of the Aspects and it makes me wonder if we’ll see eye’s of the beast ever as a glyph. However, i can see Glyph of the aspects being a problem in pvp (where atm EVERY shot if macro’d into an aspect) and thus i can for-see an internal Cd or that you can only have one active at a time
