Yor’sahj the Unsleeping: Strategy for Hunters

Yor’sahj the Unsleeping is the third boss in the Dragon Soul raid instance. Here’s what hunters need to know:

  • Three globules will spawn periodically throughout the encounter. Only one can be killed. The other two will grant Yor’sahj additional abilities. Single target kill the globule that your raid leader assigns. In normal mode, the priority is generally purple>green>yellow but this may vary from group to group.
  • If a black, red, or yellow globule is left alive, get in close to the melee. Stacking is most imperative for red globules. For black and yellow, hunters can stand in back of the melee at minimum range. A glyphed Raptor Strike will help mitigate incoming damage.
    • A black globule will spawn adds that need to be AoE’d down.
    • A red globule will enable Yorsahj to cast Searing Blood on random players. Searing blood damage increases with range from the boss.
    • A yellow globule makes void bolts an AoE spell rather than single-target. Group up for AoE healing.
  • If a blue globule is left up, a Mana Void add will spawn and drain casters of all their mana. Kill this add quickly to restore mana to your healers.
  • If a green globule is left alive, position your character at least four yards from other players.
