Sesamee at Shooting Azeroth: Falling second only to a cat, wolves have to be one of the quintessential hunter pets. I mean, dogs are our best friends, they were domesticated from wolves, so what better battle companion could there be than a wilder more ferocious version of Fido?

Wolves are awesome and every hunter should have one in their stable! At least the ideal of the perfect wolf hunter companion is! Unfortunately I think I love them more than Blizz does because they have some of the most awful looking models in the game. The old world style wolves look mangy and very dated. The saber wolves from Northrend are a little better but could still use some love. They have ferocious lean mean fighting machine looks yet that vicious looking mouth with teeth the size of daggers looks pinched and painful. I’m not crazy about the squareness of their jaw. It kinda looks like it got dislocated from the rest of their skull and hangs in a perma-snarl :/. I wish Blizz would show some love to one of the most important iconic hunter pets! . . . Okay, I have a very silly question. How do you manage to keep your pet so big? Mine always shrink down to a size smaller than my toon, which is okay but I’d love to keep some of the pets their original size!
Hi Ismena! There could be several reasons. Is your hunter 85 yet? The “younger” your hunter the smaller your pets. This is more noticeable with different pets. What race is your hunter? Blood Elves are one of the smaller races and so my main hunter’s pets will look larger as compared to my baby Draenei hunter’s. Also there is the angle of the screenshot to consider. Since it revolves around your toon your pet will look larger or smaller depending on this angle. Just experiment with camera angles to get the look you’re going for. Hope this helps!
And thanks to WoW Hunters Hall for featuring my blog post on this site! :D
